Do you own a bathroom or kitchen remodeling company and are looking to generate leads?
Great! My name is Beau Hartwick and I've been generating leads for home remodeling companies for over 6 years now and I'm writing this post so that you may be able to benefit from what I know. Don't waste thousands of dollars with Google Pay Per Click or Facebook ads that just don't work. Below we're going to be going over some strategies on how to generate leads for your remodeling business and if you're interested: How to learn how to generate your own leads for your bathroom remodeling company! |
Why Lead Generation Matters For Bathroom Remodeling Companies
Since I started my business in early 2016, I've heard these two main questions from my remodeling companies:
No matter what kind of remodeling project your business specializes in: bathroom remodels, kitchen remodels, home remodels, basement additions, deck additions or whatever else, scaling your business means taking your lead generation efforts to the next level. |
Lead Generation involves cultivating people who have already shown interest or intent to buy in your business products or services.
Homeowners need to find dependable, seasoned contractors within their budget; but it doesn't stop there.
Project Time Frame, Quality Materials, Reliable References and availability are some of the major reasons why a bathroom remodeling contractor gets chosen over the competition and because many other businesses are competing for the same leads, homeowners are cautious before pulling the trigger on their remodeling contractor.
Lead Generation Expert Beau Evan weighs in on this:
"To even think about competing in the bathroom and kitchen remodeling niche, you'll need to show your potential customers that your a remodeling contractor worth hiring. The first step to achieving this implementing an effective and targeted lead generation strategy."

How To Make Your Bathroom Remodeling Business Relevant To Homeowners
So in order to "win" at local lead generation for bathroom and kitchen remodeling, you'll need a fundamental understanding of your potential customers decision making process.
At the end of the day, you need homeowners to buy your remodeling services. Without this you'd be out of business and probably working for some chump who doesn't know what he's doing and makes more money than you. But, he owns the business and you're just the lackey.
So how do we get your business in front of your target audience?
You could hire a sales person. You know, a slicked up haired, witty, likeable person to go door to door, or business to business in a desperate exchange to build a relationship out of nothing. All the while you're paying them to sing your song that your the best home renovation contractor out there. Sure, this may have worked up until the 1990's, but this just isn't the case anymore.
And why?
Because companies who focus their attention on lead generation get results.

Lead Generation For Home Remodeling Works
As we were talking earlier, hiring a sales person doesn't work anymore like it used to. Between the hiring, training and implementation process, so much downtime has been invested into one person. But people always make mistakes, whether its communication misunderstandings to so much more.
This is why lead generation for home remodeling companies works better.
Beau Evan shares his thoughts on this:
"Think of your lead generation website as the ultimate sales person. No communication errors as it says exactly what you want it to say. When it's optimized it works 24 hours a day, 7 days a week (including holidays). It requires minimal time for implementation and it shows your customer exactly what you want it to. In my experience, targeting your customers through search engines yields the highest possible ROI with the least amount of headache possible."

FATAL MISTAKES REGARDING LEAD GENERATION FOR REMODELING COMPANIES
When it comes to generating leads for your remodeling business there are multiple things you need to be aware of.
The first mistake people make is not properly gauging the budget for their lead generation campaign.
"I've spoken to hundreds of bathroom remodeling companies over the course of my tenure in lead generation and this mindset seems to be habitual. Many business owners seem to think that starting a campaign will either be vastly more or less expensive then it actually is.
The only way to properly determine how to budget a successful lead generation campaign is by doing a competitor analysis.
For example, if I own a remodeling company in Dallas, Texas, In just a few seconds (with the right software licenses), I can determine how strong the competition is, how many backlinks they have, how long their website has been active, how many citations they have, how many social media actions have been made, total reviews on their Google my business profile and so on.
The more work that has been done on their listing and website means you'll have to spend more money to outrank them."
A good rule of thumb is: Whatever the lead dog has done you need to out do them or at least match their efforts.
The second mistake you need to be aware of is how to properly set fourth a realistic timeline on when you want to acquire leads.
"Most remodeling company business owners have a grandiose expectation on how long it'll actually take to get a lead generation site to actually generate exclusive, high-quality leads.
In my experience, if a business owner wants leads within the week, then diving into a Pay Per Click (PPC) campaign might be the best route to go.
PPC is more expensive and can be fiercely competitive but it can yield those fast results a business owner wants. In my opinion, any campaign that has < 5% click conversion rate shouldn't even be a realistic route.
A realistic lead generation campaign for most niches in a city with < 500,000 people shouldn't take more than 3-4 months to start acquiring leads. (This is all depending on the competition and niche though)."
Finally, the last mistake you need to be aware of is competitor strength.
"I see TONS of marketing companies and SEO's underestimate this time and time again which ultimately leaves a bad taste in remodeling business owners mouths.
We can generate you leads in 1,2,3 months etc.. Yeah. If it sounds too good to be true it probably is.
It is absolutely paramount to know what you're going against when it comes to lead generation in your city.
You wouldn't go into a football game against an undefeated team without a game plan right?
Neither would I.
Properly assessing your competition will give you realistic expectations on how long it will actually take to generate those high quality remodeling leads you crave.
A low pop city < 100,000 optimal results can be achieved within a few months while bigger cities it will definitely take longer. Like I said earlier, a good rule of thumb is: the more work the competition has done, the more you'll end up paying for your lead generation campaign."
