The question here: Is it still possible to jump into the dropshipping market in 2021-2022? How good is this course and how does it compare to other dropshipping courses? With many eCom courses out on the internet, who wouldn't want to "hack" into the eCom world. Especially with how lucrative it can seem. |
Introduction to Jared Goetz and His Ecom Hacks Course
Looking at Jared Goetz and who he is: Back in 2017 Jared blew up when his shopify store was one of the biggest on the internet and blowing up to over 2 million in sales in just half a year. Jared's store, The Gadget Snob, at one point went on to make millions more in sales in less than a year.
Since then he's been able to duplicate his success but he has trended downward since his arrival in 2017.
Is Jared an eCom God? Sure, you could say that he's an eCom deity but the question here is: Is it still possible to hack into ecommerce like Jared did years ago?
The jury is still out and that's why we're doing a course review to shed some light on this program.
Costing $2000 and only offering 3 1/2 hours of content seems really steep but hey, who knows what you could get out of those hours if you leverage yourself the right way, right?

What is the Ecom Hacks Academy?
eCom Hacks Academy is an online dropshipping course that teaches students how to create a "successful" dropshipping store. The course leaves a lot to be desired especially for charging 2k and cover aspects of dropshipping, from web design to digital marketing. It is designed to be a turn key program boasting thousands of students who have had success with it.

Module 1 - Structure your Business
This part is the most basic part of this dropshipping program. It teaches students how to set up their basic Shopify store. Jared Goetz covers things like domain purchasing, adding fulfillment services, and getting everything on the back end connected.

Once your Shopify store is set up, you need to make sure that your potential visitors buy your products that you have listed. It's important to take preventative measures when picking the perfect product to sell online. In module 3, Jared Goetz covers all the steps you'll need to take in order to pick a trending, will-sell product. Module #3 includes:

Module 4 gives you a general overview on advertising and running paid ads. This would seem a lot more comprehensive but it's really just a side gig of showing you how Facebook Ads works. Module #4 info includes:

- Setting up call support - Creating a phone line with a voice to menu system to help your potential customers throughout their buying journey with your Shopify Store.
- Payment - Verify and start setting up services like Stripe and Paypal to accept cash or card payments.
- Meta Descriptions - Quick (vague and again, a lot to be desired) SEO reference for meta tags on your Shopify store.
- Shipping - Setting up structure for your shipping process and price points to maximize your profit.

- The 5 Million Dollar theme - This is an absolute joke if you ask anyone who's actually in the eCom world and we wont waste anytime diving into this.
- How to Build "Free Shipping" into your price points.
- Cart Email Sequence - Jared shows you how to literally "download an app" lol, that shows you how to reach out to any visitor that abandons their cart so you can follow up with their purchase.
- Loading Speed Optimization - Learn how to reduce your Shopify website loading speed with image optimizers. Again, basic things you'd probably think of if you were running your own Shopify store.
Module 3 - Products
Your products are only as good as your sales. Oh, wait.. Your sales are only as good as your product. The products that you choose to sell are vital to the success of your Shopify Store.

Module 4 gives you a general overview on advertising and running paid ads. This would seem a lot more comprehensive but it's really just a side gig of showing you how Facebook Ads works. Module #4 info includes:
- Winning in 6 days - This video Jared says is his most important video in his entire course. It's his 6 step process that took him to 67k per month. His 6 step process includes: Utilizing the Facebook pixel, Analyzing top ad streams, investing in the ones that work and cutting out the ones that aren't.
- How to set up a Facebook page - Guys this is really complicated.. lol.
- Setting up a business manager, ad accounts and other paid ad accounts.
- Campaign Structure - Different campaign structures and ads, and how to create a target audience that gives you good analytics.
- Facebook Ads - Jake Tenenbaum's guide to setting up your ad campaign in a spreadsheet before you even start your ad campaign.
- Testing method 1 - Create a broad audience, then with the data, narrow your target audience based off of actions taken on your Shopify site.
- Testing method 2 - A PPE campaign where you "pay per engagement" for your store. This method doesn't pay for clicks like a normal PPC campaign, but it pays to build a lasting audience. Effective but very costly and not so scalable.
- Scaling - Different methods to scale your Shopify store.
- Manual Bidding Strategies - This step shows you how to win the bidding spaces of Facebook ads.
- Scaling Ads For Different Viewing Modes - How to engage people on desktop, tablets, voice search and more.
Tenenbaum, an instructor, teaches you how to plan your campaign using Excel.This module comes with some very valuable information, such as the testing methods, scaling strategies, and manual bidding strategies. This module easily comprises 90% of the value of the course.
How Is Ecom Hacks Academy’s Quality?
The course is made with fairly good quality. The audio is good, although a few videos can see a drop in quality when they switch instructors. You can expect most videos coming with a graphic intro, a brief summary, then a screen recording of their subject. Sometimes you may hear a slight echo, or The quality does not get in the way of the course, although sometimes you can see an obvious drop in quality when a different instructor is teaching.
Does Jared Goetz Deliver?
No, not by a long shot. Goetz course over promises and under-delivers. The price tag associated with this course is just absurd. He charges $2k just to go over some very basic tutorials and information. Half of the course is him going over setting up things like your Shopify store or Facebook page, all of which you can learn for free online. Essentially, he’s charging you $2k for him to teach you Facebook marketing techniques that weren’t invented by him, and easily learnable elsewhere.
Goetz constantly flaunts his success to validate your purchase.
So, can you make $67k with this course? Yes, assuming you have $10k to throw at Facebook ads. If not, expect minimal profit and maximum frustration. Your Shopify store will not make you rich, despite what Goetz claims.
Who Is Jarez Goetz’s Course Best For
This course is best for anyone that has no idea what they’re doing. The type of person that watches one dropshipping video on youtube and is ready to throw thousands of dollars away. If you’re this person, this video is perfect for you. It teaches you the absolute basics and some advanced strategies to get you started. This course is designed for beginners who require a lot of guidance. If you’re anyone else, this course is not for you.
Is Ecom Hacks Academy Worth The Money
Not by a long shot.
This course just doesn’t provide enough value for it to warrant a $2k price tag. 99% of the content of this course can be learned through other, cheaper, alternatives. There’s just too many resources for dropshipping available for it to justify the amount Goetz is charging. If you’re a beginner, the amount that you’d spend on this course can be used to get your store truly successful. And for anyone with experience, the courses advanced strategies (module 4), doesn’t provide enough for you to feel like your purchase would be justified.

- Ecom Success Academy (Adrian Morisson)– Ecom success academy is one of the few courses that is a Shopify approved course. If you are thinking of buying Ecom hacks academy (which the name itself is copying Adrian Morisson), I highly recommend that you buy this course instead. - The Complete Shopify course (Udemy)- If you’re thinking of taking Ecom Hacks Academy because you’re a beginner, consider this course instead. Coming in at 1/200th of the price, this course will teach you the fundamentals of dropshipping while saving you a tremendous amount of money.
- Shopify Academy- Shopify publishes a vast amount of free resources for you to get familiar with their platform. It includes everything from Facebook advertising, email marketing, Google ads, and even search engine optimization. It’s definitely a great resource for anyone unfamiliar with dropshipping.
So How Much is eCom Hacks Academy in 2021?
Pricing for this dropshipping program is black and white: at a one time cost of $2000. Jared Goetz recommends when someone gets started in this program that they have $1-$2000 set aside for advertising. You can get access to the full course as well as access to his "mastermind group" of prior students and mentors. It also comes with a stock Shopify store for you to use.
My Final Verdict
This course is just another basic fundamental overview that charges you an absurd amount by flaunting their own success. Goetz does not provide nearly enough value for him to charge $2,000. The amount of cheaper and better alternatives puts this course on our “do not recommend” list. It promises riches and gives you the minimal amount of content for them to not get sued. Do not buy this course.
